Blood tests at orchard surgery
We no longer offer routine blood tests at orchard surgery.
If you need to have a blood test, you will be directed to the park & ride at newmarket road or the extended access clinics at melbourn or comberton unless you fall within one of the following groups:
- you are over 70
- you are a frail elderly patient
- you are a patient with learning difficulties
- you are a vulnerable patient
You are a patient on one of the following drugs:
- Methotrexate, Sulfasalazine, Hydroxychloroquine, Azathioprine,
- Mercaptopurine, Mycophenolate, Leflunomide, Cyclosporin
- Riveroxaban, Apixaban, Edoxaban, Dibigatran or Warfarin
Or if:
- you are a mental health patients and /or may be on lithium
- you have been asked to have an ecg and bloodtest for an urgent condition
- you need to have an urgent blood test which need repeating e.G you are a patient with low or high sodium or potasium levels, abnormal kidney function or aneamia
- you have no care or transport available to you.
